Golden Gloves Championship in Tulsa
Get ready to rumble with the OK State Golden Gloves Championship on Saturday!
This amateur boxing event for men and women age 18 to 40 is happening at Tulsa’s Engine Room gym.
This event is a district feeder tournament and winners will head to the regionals in Kansas.
Doors open at 1 p.m. with a 2 p.m. bell Saturday and tickets are $20.
Blood Drive At TTCU
There is a major blood shortage right now and TTCU is trying to fill the need with a blood drive Friday.
The community can donate blood at two locations today.
Right now, the Our Blood Institute said it only has a 1 to 2 day supply and needs help with the winter weather.
You can make an appointment or walk in and it only takes an hour of your time.
Bixby Battle of the Bots
Bixby Middle School is hosting Battle of the Bots Saturday.
This is the largest robotics tournament in Oklahoma with 60 teams from 16 schools across Oklahoma and Texas.
Doors open at 8 a.m. and awards are happening at 4:45 p.m.
Tulsa Public School Board Candidate Session
A nonpartisan group is hosting a session with Tulsa Public School board candidates at 2 p.m. Saturday.
Action Tulsa said it expects 350 people to speak up and question the candidates on education issues like mental health, absenteeism and transportation.
Five of the six candidates have committed to be at the event which is happening at TU'S Allen Chapman student union. A reservation is required.
"Brick Fest Live" at the Cox Convention Center
Saturday and Sunday brings "Brick Fest Live" back to the Cox Convention Center.
There will be more than one million LEGO bricks on display and ready for play, with activities for the whole family.
There is early bird access Friday. Doors open at 10 a.m. and tickets start at $20.
Women Mountain Biking in Tulsa
And finally, calling all ladies looking to get into mountain biking!
Women Empowered: Riding Oklahoma is hosting a women-only mountain biking event at Turkey Mountain Sunday at 2 p.m.
It’s open to all skill levels and is a free event if you want to try something new or if you're a seasoned pro.
