3-time Super Bowl Champion and Oklahoma's Own, Troy Aikman, is in Oklahoma this week to launch his beer EIGHT Elite Light Lager.

A can of EIGHT has just 90 calories and 2.6 carbs. Aikman said it is made using 100% organic grains and no fillers or adjuncts.

"We add no corn, rice, syrup, sugars or sweeteners," he said. "It is the cleanest beer available."

The beer gets its name from the jersey number Aikman wore in college and as quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys.

"I loved my time playing," he said, "My years in Dallas were fantastic, made a lot of great friends, a lot of great memories with a lot of championships, and big wins and I am thankful that I am still a part of it through broadcasting."

Aikman is a color commentator for ESPN's Monday Night Football alongside his longtime broadcasting partner Joe Buck. However, his journey to the NFL began in Oklahoma. Aikman moved to Henryetta when he was 12 years old and played football in college for two years at the University of Oklahoma under Coach Barry Switzer.

That relationship helped him land a summer job that gave Aikman his first introduction to the beer industry. "I actually worked at a beer distributor here in Tulsa in college one summer," he said.

Aikman said the lessons he learned growing up in the Sooner State stayed with him.

"I really love this state," he said, "So much of who I am and what I am was shaped during my time in Oklahoma and I learned the value of hard work and the rewards of that."

That is why he has decided to expand and bring his beer across the state line.

"This beer is really for those hard-working people, so it is a natural fit that we are here in Oklahoma," Aikman said.

EIGHT can be found in beer coolers, breweries, restaurants, and grocery stores across the state. Unlike some clean products, Aikman said they did not compromise on taste.

"We did not sacrifice flavor and yet we made a beer that people can feel good about without all the added junk," he said.
