Cowgirl Softball Advances To Women's College World Series, Downs Arizona 10-4

Six different Cowgirls drove home a run as the No. 5 seed Oklahoma State softball team punched its ticket to the Women's College World Series defeating Arizona, 10-4, Saturday night at Cowgirl Stadium. 

The win improves OSU to 49-10 and advances the Cowgirls' to a fifth-consecutive Women's College World Series. The loss ends the Wildcats' season at 37-18-1. 

Oklahoma State jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning on a two-run home run from Tallen Edwards and a walked-in run. 

Arizona answered back in the bottom of the frame on an RBI single by Regan Shockey. 

Rosie Davis and Claire Timm both blasted solo home runs in the third inning to extend the Cowgirl lead to 5-1. Timm's 10th home run of the year marks the first time in program history a Cowgirl team has had five different double-digit home run hitters. 

In the fourth, Caroline Wang's two-run single pushed the Oklahoma State lead to 7-1. 

In the bottom of the frame, Emily Schepp's two-run blast cut the Arizona deficit to 7-3. 

The Cowgirls added three runs in the fifth inning on RBI double's from Timm and Lexi McDonald and an RBI single from Jilyen Poullard

Arizona's Olivia DiNardo doubled home a run in the bottom of the frame to make it a 10-4 ballgame.

Offensively, OSU was led by Davis (3-for-3 with an RBI), Timm (2-for-3 with two RBIs) and Edwards (1-for-4 with two RBIs). The 10 runs notched by the Cowgirl offense tonight is the most in a Super Regional game in program history. 

In the circle, Lexi Kilfoyl improved to 26-3, hurling four innings in relief. Kilfoyl has picked up wins in all five postseason games for Oklahoma State. Aissa Silva ended her season at 22-6 for the Wildcats. 

The Cowgirls head to the Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City beginning May 30. OSU awaits the winner of the Gainesville Super Regional between Florida and Baylor. Game times and TV destinations will be announced when they become available.
