Broken Arrow Police Foundation will now be able to complete the city's Real Time Information Center, thanks to a big donation from QuikTrip.

Broken Arrow police already have a place for the Real Time Information Center, but this funding will purchase the technology needed to get it up and running.

Chief Brandon Berryhill says a Real Time Information Center is like having an officer on every corner.

"It takes all different kinds of intelligence, whether it be video feeds or something from the dispatch center, and brings it into an intelligible form," he said.

The center will have access to videos from business partners that officers can quickly pull up to respond. Chief Berryhill says they'll know exactly where to go instead of searching for a scene.

"If you take all those cameras and say we're going to monitor everything, one person can't do that. You need an information center with software to bring it all in, where one person can basically shop all the intelligence and tell people out in the field, this is where you need to go, this is what you're looking for," he said.

Chief Berryhill asked people about a year ago to create a nonprofit foundation to help pay for things the department needs but are not in the budget. The foundation contacted QuikTrip, and the company decided to give the $351,000 needed.

"QuikTrip has not only been working in Oklahoma as a whole, but across the country to invest in local law enforcements to make sure they have the resources they need to keep our communities safer and stronger," Aisha Jefferson with QuikTrip said.

QuikTrip says this is a great way to give back to Broken Arrow while also ensuring that their workers and all citizens feel safe in their community.

"All of our QuikTrippers, they work in the communities, and if we invest in our local law enforcement, that can ensure that our customers and our employees are safe," Jefferson said.
