Man Arrested After Crashing Stolen Motorcycle On Tulsa Highway

Police arrested a man they say crashed a stolen motorcycle into a car Thursday night, then ran off.

They identified him as 20-year-old Bailey Burke.

Officers were called to Highway 75 at 71st Street South at about 11 p.m. When they got there the motorcycle rider was gone.

Out of concern for the rider's safety, police searched the area using the department's helicopter. They also shut down the northbound lanes of the highway while they investigated the crash.

Police say the investigation determined the motorcycle had recently been reported stolen.

At 11:35 p.m., police got a call from a restaurant about a mile south of the crash. The caller said a man covered in blood was asking for a ride. Officers arrived and determined Bailey Burke was the rider of that motorcycle. EMSA treated him for his injuries, then police arrested him.

They booked Bailey Burke into the Tulsa County jail on complaints including possession of a stolen vehicle, operating without a driver's license and leaving the scene of an injury crash.

Jail records show Burke has a court appearance on October 11th.
