Joy In The Cause Run Supports Oklahomans In Crisis

The return of summer heat didn't stop a bunch of folks from coming out to the Joy in the Cause run. It all happened Friday night at the Riverwest Festival park along the Arkansas River.

All the proceeds going to benefit the local non-profit Joy in the Cause. Their mission is to bring support to those with life-altering illness and special needs through packages of care.

News On 6 was the media sponsor and cancer survivor Lisa Riley was the race chair. I had the honor of serving as co-emcee with the founder of Joy in the Cause, Lisa Bain.

The lovable Mavis Pearl made a brief appearance to say thanks for all those who came out for the 1-mile fun run and the timed 5K.
