Police are investigating a homicide after a person was shot and killed early Sunday. Police say they received a call about a man down at Town Square Apartments at 2:24 a.m. Sunday.
When they arrived at Town Square Apartments near Young and Trenton, police say they found a man, identified as 25-year-old Aundre Byrd, with a gunshot wound to the head.
Initially, police wanted to hear from Ricky Sier, who they believed to be the shooter after an eyewitness told police they saw Sier shoot Byrd. Officers say Sier and his girlfriend Denise Harris took off from the scene early this morning with their 6-year-old son.
After interviewing Sier and watching video from the apartment complex Sgt Dave Walker says detectives are confident he is not the shooter and will be released.
"Looking at the video really precisely, and we've put him somewhere else in the complex, where it could be almost impossible for him to do the shooting. We're still gonna have to investigative him because of the witness, but this time we've proven that he can't be the shooter, and what he's telling us is the truth," said Sgt. Walker.
Anyone with information about this incident or the location of Harris, call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-2677, the Homicide Tip Line at (918)798-8477, or e-mail homicide@cityoftulsa.org.
