Saturday is "National Drug Take Back Day" an initiative aimed to help people dispose of old or unwanted prescription drugs.
Members of the News On 6 team joined with members of some Tulsa area non-profits to demonstrate the importance of getting rid of old prescription drugs the right way. Experts say throwing them away or flushing them down the toilet is bad for the environment.
"We've lost too many live in the state of Oklahoma to drug overdoses already so this is about saving a life and if you can do something as simple as cleaning out your medicine cabinet," said Jennifer Hinson the Executive Director of Grand Nation.
This is the 9th year for the National Drug Take Back Day.
