Journey plays the BOK Center Monday night, but before that, a native Oklahoman and founder of the band was honored.

Monday, June 5 is Neal Schon Day at the Woody Guthrie Center.

Schon was born at Tinker Air Force base and has been a continuous member of the band since it started in 1972. Schon and Journey were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April.

"I guess I'm getting old, and I'm doing something right," Schon said. "It's an honor, you know. I've been making music for many, many years."

Schon's also played with Eric Clapton and Santana.
