Murals are popping up all over buildings in downtown Tulsa. The newest one is coming to the Brady District.
Muralists Adam Codak Smith and Yatika Star Fields are working on the new creation. It's a collaboration between the Tulsa Artist Fellowship and Arts Alliance Tulsa.
“Tulsa is forming its own personality - it's a new personality, a rejuvenated personality,” said Todd Cunningham with Arts Alliance Tulsa.
Murals like these are popping up all over downtown, and they are part of the revival. This new mural will be on the north side of The Hunt Club.
Smith and Fields have painted murals all over the world.
"Oh God, it’s in the thousands really," Smith said.
They've been at it since the first Friday in May and plan to have it finished by June's First Friday.
Smith said he painted his first building back in the 80s, back when you didn't get paid.
"To see all the progression, and basically see society all over the world accept it as a bona fide art form is rewarding," he said.
The key for the two artists is communication.
“We're both professionals in our field, so we can understand how to kind of work toward something, a goal," Fields said.
