The suspect in the murder, James Mahdavi, was arrested on November 26, 2016. Police asked the public to assist them in finding Dunkin after he failed to show up as a witness.

Walker said they learned Dunkin was at an address in the 500 block of South 37th West Avenue on Saturday, April 22, 2017. He was booked on a new complaint of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and felony warrants for possession of a controlled drug (two counts), knowingly receiving stolen property, and possession of paraphernalia.
