A judge has set a new arraignment date for Tulsa Police Officer Betty Shelby, who appeared in court Thursday morning for her initial district court arraignment.
A trial date was to be set for Shelby for the first-degree manslaughter charge she faces for shooting and killing Terence Crutcher in September.
Shelby's attorney requested more time to file motions before the trial begins.
The judge continued proceedings until February 1, when the trial date is expected to be set.

A judge decided in late November that she would have to stand trial after shooting Crutcher near 36th Street North and Lewis on September 16, 2016.
Shelby's attorney said Crutcher didn't follow her commands and she feared for her life, leading to her shooting him.

But District Attorney Steve Kunzweiler argued that Crutcher never tried to attack Shelby and even had his hands up at times.
