Minnesota prosecutors said Wednesday that after investigating the police shooting death of Philando Castile, they've decided to charge the officer involved with second-degree manslaughter.
The Ramsey County Attorney John Choi said that the investigation into the incident shows that use of deadly force was not justified.
“My conscience tells me that it would be wrong for me to ask a grand jury to make this decision when I know what needs to be done,” Ramsey County Attorney John Choi said.
St. Anthony police officer Jeronimo Yanez shot Castile at the July 6 traffic stop.
