Members of a Tulsa motorcycle enthusiast group donated $10,430 to the Folds of Honor Foundation Wednesday, contributing to the foundation's mission of providing scholarships to families of fallen or disabled soldiers.
Heyoka Storm Riders, Hank Johnson & All American Plumbing and AKDAR Masonic Lodge #555 presented the check to Folds of honor at a presentation ceremony in front of on of the P51s that flew into Germany during WWII during the first wave, Heyoka Storm Riders representatives said in a news release.
The Heyoka Storm Riders and the AKDAR Masonic Lodge #555 raised the money through its annual Bikes & Birds Bash October 15 at the Jenks airport.
The event drew more than 400 people who enjoyed a day of airplane rides, dinner, live music, silent auction and a live auction.
“This was a terrific family event which benefited a wonderful organization – Folds of Honor,” said Sean O’Dell of Heyoka Storm Riders.
Major Dan Rooney with Folds of Honor said Folds of Honor has carried on its mission of providing educational scholarships to the children and spouses of fallen and disabled service members since 2007.
The Bikes & Birds Bash is an annual event that is open to the public each year for a nominal entrance fee.
