The Bob Dylan Archive is coming to Tulsa a truckload at a time. The second shipment arrived Tuesday.

It contains some Bob Dylan pieces that you can see before they are displayed anywhere else.

The truck brought in archive materials from New York City to Tulsa and the Gilcrease Museum.

Up to now, we have received mostly letters and lyric sheets, but Tuesday’s shipment provided some of the items that help tell the story of Bob Dylan's career -one of his guitars, some posters and photos and other items.

"It's kind of the first exhibition of some of the materials in the collection," said curator of the Dylan Archive, Michael Chaiken.

One of the items that arrived Tuesday was a leather jacket Dylan wore at the Newport Folk Festival in 1965 when he went from an acoustic folk musician to more electric rock musician.

For Dylan fans then, it’s a huge deal.

"It completely divided the audience; some people booed, some people cheered," Chaiken said.

The other item they are inspecting is Bruce Langhorne's tambourine; it and he were the inspiration for Dylan's song, Mr. Tambourine Man.

Chaiken said, "There is still a lot in New York City so it will take a while, but it will get here."

You can see some of the Dylan Archive items up close Wednesday night. The Circle Cinema will host the World premiere of the 10th-anniversary edition of the Martin Scorsese film "No Direction Home" at 7 p.m. Some of the archive items will be on display in the lobby.
