Several Tulsa pastors met at the Dream Center to pray Friday night.
The recent homicides - seven since Sunday - prompted them to hold a prayer vigil.
An Oral Roberts student and Dream Center volunteer organized the event.
Lucretia Rodriguez said she's lost several friends to violence in Tulsa and says prayer is a way to bring the community together in a time of grief.
"Even though there's danger, even though there's things we can't expect, there's still hope in Christ,” Rodriguez said. “And who He's called us to be. And that we can still come together as a community and bring hope. There's always hope, no matter what the situation is."
Pastors from Bridging the Gap and the Dream Center, as well as several community members, took turns praying.
