A first-grade teacher at Glenpool Public Schools is getting $2,500 to create a mobile, in-classroom STEM lab.
STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.
Farmers Insurance said it chose to award Rachel Welch one of its 'Thank America's Teachers' grants because of her idea to use the STEM lab to promote hands-on creativity and higher-level thinking.
The lab will include access to technology and space for students to explore STEM concepts they're learning in class.
