Another day, another set of heat advisories.

We are expecting heat indices to once again range from 105 to 110 this afternoon. Save those back-breaking outdoor activities for the morning or evening hours. Daytime highs today are looking at 100 for Tulsa.

Showers and storms occurring in western Oklahoma today will slowly push along a surface front. Most of Green Country will be dry today but folks south and east of Tulsa will have chances for showers and thunderstorms later today.

The front will sink south into eastern Oklahoma early Monday morning, bringing chances for rain and storms in the area. This will allow for afternoon highs to be contained in the low to mid 90s. Heat index values will still be above 100 for the late afternoon and evening.

The surface front will stay in our vicinity through Tuesday which will continue our chances for showers and storms. The dome of high pressure aloft is moving back to the west and that will allow for daily chances of showers and storms this week.

By late in the week, we’ll see another front near Green Country and that will increase thunderstorm chances once again.
