Police say a 9-year-old boy has a bullet stuck in his head after getting shot at Tulsa's FreedomFest fireworks show Monday night. Police say the boy and his family were at Veteran's Park watching the FreedomFest celebration around 10 p.m.
The boy told his family something hit him in the head, initially thinking it was fireworks-related.
The child was taken to the hospital, where doctors did a CT scan and found he had been shot. Doctors say the 9 year old is in stable condition, and they plan to remove the bullet later.
Police say their preliminary investigation shows this may be a result of celebratory gunfire.
Organizers expected a crowd of about 80,000 people to show up at the Folds of Honor FreedomFest.
