One man died and another was hurt in a rollover wreck on the Creek Turnpike Monday afternoon, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

The OHP said a 1973 Chevrolet pickup was northbound on the turnpike near 71st Street towing a trailer-mounted chipper at 3:45 p.m. when the chipper started to swerve. That caused the driver of the truck to lose control, the OHP said.

Troopers said the pickup ran off the right side of the highway and rolled.

The OHP identified the driver as Jerry Garrison, 50, of Pryor. Troopers said he was pronounced dead at the scene after being cut out of the truck.

The passenger was 31-year-old Robert Wilson, also of Pryor, the OHP said. According to troopers, Wilson was ejected from the truck. The OHP said he was treated at a hospital and released.
