The temperatures are currently in the upper 50s and lower 60s and will move into the mid-80s today.

The main forecast challenge for the rest of the week involves the temperature and humidity.  How high will the temperature climb and how high will the heat index values reach by the end of the week?

The upper air pattern may bring a few leftover showers into southern Kansas early this morning and Wednesday morning, but the odds of any activity surviving the trip into northern OK will remain very low as a mid-level ridge of high pressure will remain the dominant feature for the next few days.

North wind today will keep the humidity values in the 30 to 40% range this afternoon.   Daytime highs will move into the mid-80s with sunshine and pleasant conditions.

Tomorrow the south winds will return across the area but remain light in speed.   Winds will increase speeds Thursday into the weekend with rich low level moisture in the form of lower 70 degree dew points returning across eastern OK

Temperatures will be nearing the lower 90s Thursday into the weekend.  RH and temperature combined will bring heat index values into the mid or upper 90s across part of eastern OK Thursday through the weekend.    A stray storm is possible Sunday but the pattern should become active again early next wee with increasing rain and storm chances.
