Rain Causes Changes In NCAA Tennis Championship Schedule

Rain entered the Tulsa area after the 2 o’clock hour forcing a change in the remaining schedule for Thursday’s first day of play at the NCAA Division I Men’s & Women’s Tennis Championship.

The #8 Pepperdine vs. #17-32 Texas match will be moved to the Greenwood Tennis Center on the campus of Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Okla., and begin at 6 pm. ?The #1-seed California vs. #16 Texas Tech match will be played at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center. It will be decided later whether that match will be played indoors or outdoors dependent on weather.

A decision for the originally scheduled 7 p.m. matches on location and start time will be made later.

The rain forced the #2 Florida vs. #15 Stanford match indoors after the doubles point was nearly decided. Florida grabbed the doubles point soon after moving indoors. No.10 Michigan grabbed the doubles point against No. 7 Miami for a 1-0 lead, but was not able to get singles play started back on the outdoor courts.

The Miami-Michigan match will resume indoors at the Case Tennis Center following the Florida-Stanford match.
