Broken Arrow Police arrested a man they say who broke into several vehicles at an apartment complex Tuesday morning.
Police got a call at about 5:30 Tuesday morning about a burglary in process. They said the caller reported two men carrying plastic bags through the parking lot of the Greens of Battle Creek, located near the Broken Arrow Expressway and 145th East Avenue.
The caller said the men were carrying the bags to a silver pickup. He said he saw one of the men then go to several vehicles in the parking lot, looking in the windows and pulling the door handles, before getting in the pickup and leaving in a hurry.
Police said they soon found a truck matching its description and pulled it over because its third brake light wasn't working.
The passenger matched the description given by the caller, according to the police report. Police said they found several bags as described by the caller. They said they also found items in the truck that had been taken from the vehicles at the apartment complex, including a sealed Macy's box with a shipping label addressed to one of the victims.
Police booked Smith on three counts of burglary to a vehicle and one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
