The Oklahoma Highway Patrol and Cherokee County Sheriff's Office have recovered the body of a man who went missing on Fort Gibson Lake Sunday.

He's been identified as 51-year-old Hulbert resident Samuel Zane Howe.

Howe's boat was found abandoned in the Wildwood area, just above the dam. His truck and the boat trailer were found across the bay, according to Trooper Dwight Durant, Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

The trailer was backed up into the water on a boat ramp.

Howe's family was at the lake and said Zane Howe was a lifelong fisherman.

The OHP is investigating the death, but Durant said there is nothing suspicious about it.
