Fires in Okmulgee County have been burning for several days. They've burned over 20,000 acres and destroyed or damaged around 15 homes and buildings.
Creighton said Okmulgee County firefighters deserve a lot of credit in battling the wildfires. If crews haven't been in Nuyaka, they've been fighting fires elsewhere in the county, he said.
