The Sooners added to their roster when Amani Bledsoe, a four-star DE from Lawrence, Kansas, announced his commitment to Oklahoma via Twitter on Thursday.
The standout ranks No. 1 in Kansas and Missouri on Rivals final 2016 prospect list and ranks 155 overall on 247Sports composite list.
In his announcement, Bledsoe wrote:
“First and foremost I would like to thank God for blessing me with everything I have and have been able to do up to accomplish up to this point. I’m very grateful to have also had my mom and great coaches and family, trainers and friends being there for me the entire process.
I’d like to thank all the schools that offered me, for believing that I could make an impact at their school.
I’d also like to thank LHS for providing me with the opportunity to excel on and off the field. It’s hard to believe I’m finally done with high school football. It’s been amazing and it’s been a great ride.
After talking with my family and coaches, I’m proud to announce that I will be pursuing my education and football dreams playing football at the University of Oklahoma!!!”
Bledsoe measures 6'5'' and weighs 263 pounds, so it’s easy to see why other Division I schools such as Kansas, Baylor, UCLA, Oregon, Oklahoma State and Missouri took an interest in him.
His highlight reel makes it even easier to see why the phenom attracted national attention.
