Clerk Thwarts Armed Robber At Tulsa Walgreens

Police are looking for the man who tried to rob the Walgreens at 71st and Lewis early Wednesday morning.

The clerk told police the man came up to the counter at about 3:20 a.m. He asked for a couple of items and pulled out money to buy them. As the clerk was making change, the man pulled out a handgun. The clerk closed the register, gave the man his change and walked away.

The man walked out of the store and police say he may have left in a mid 90s Chevy Suburban with tinted windows.

Police said he's a black man with facial hair, 5 feet 6 to 5 feet 8 inches tall weighing 160 to 170 pounds wearing a dark brown leather jacket.
