Tahlequah Police Make Arrest In Stabbing Death

Tahlequah Police arrested the brother-in-law of a man found stabbed to death late Tuesday.

Police said they were called to a home in the 500 block of South Cedar Place just after 11 p.m. for a suspicious death.

Inside the home, officers found Roger Hawley, 55, dead from a stab wound to the chest according to the state Medical Examiner's Office.  Police said after talking to witnesses, officers arrested John Beckmann, 50, in connection with Hawley' death.

Officers said Beckmann had been living with Hawley since early November.  He was booked into the Cherokee County jail.
