Arrest Made In Delaware County Shooting

An arrested has been made in a Delaware County shooting that left one person injured.

According to a news release, Delaware County Sheriff’s deputies arrested 31-year-old Matthew Donovan for the shooting of 36-year-old Johnny Leaf.

The release says just after 5:00 Monday morning, the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office and officers from the Grand River Dam Authority Police responded to the shooting at 650 8th Street.

When they arrived, they said they found Leaf shot in the back. They said he was air lifted to St. Francis and remains in stable condition.

During their investigation, they said they learned Leaf was shot by Donovan and that the two men knew each other.

The release says, around 1:00 Monday afternoon Donovan was arrested and booked into the Delaware County jail on charges of possession of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance and assault with a deadly weapon.

No bond has been set for Donovan at this time.
