White House Honors Two Oklahomans As 'Champions Of Change'

Two Oklahoma women received a big honor from the White House this week.  Both were honored as a "Champions of Change" during a Tuesday ceremony in Washington, D.C.

Two Oklahoma women received a big honor from the White House this week.  Both were honored as a "Champions of Change" during a Tuesday ceremony in Washington, D.C.  

Fifteen-year-old Katie Prior of Oklahoma City, founded a nonprofit that recognizes high school trumpet players who use their musical talents to honor military veterans.  

And Ashley McCray, a University of Oklahoma Ph.D student in Norman, inspired a mandatory diversity course for incoming students and workshops for OU faculty, students and staff.  

Both were two of 11 women selected to receive the award out of over 1,000 nominations.
