The Humane Society of Tulsa assisted the Grant County Sheriff's Office with the seizure of two-dozen dogs on Tuesday.

Officials said the sheriff's office in Medford is conducting an animal cruelty investigation and asked the Humane Society to take care of the dogs.

The Humane Society says the owner voluntarily gave up the dogs while deputies conduct their investigation. It says the dogs include Greyhounds as well as several mixed breed dogs. Many were too weak to stand or walk on their own. The dogs range from very young puppies to young adults.

All the dogs have been brought to the society's Tulsa adoption center at 6232 East 60th Street at Sheridan. The Humane Society of Tulsa is now seeking donations and volunteers to help care for the dogs.

Items needed include oatmeal or medicated shampoo, large bath towels, canned dog food, collars and flea and tick prevention products.
