High Water Closes Fishing Area At Eufaula Dam

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers closed the fishing area on the north side of Eufaula Dam due to high water.

"With more rainfall expected and additional releases possible, we are going to close the area this evening out of concern for public safety," said Craig Robbins, manager, Eufaula Lake Office, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

"We will reopen the area when conditions improve."

The Corps of Engineers says a number of its recreational areas remain closed at Eufaula Lake as well as areas at lakes in the Tulsa district.

Copan Lake:

Washington Cove – 7 campsites closed.

Eufaula Lake:

Oak Ridge – 25 percent of campsites are available.

Elm Point – Completely closed with gates shut.

Gentry Creek – Completely closed with gates shut.

Brooken Cove – Completely closed with gates shut.

Porum Landing – 80 percent of campsites are closed.

Ladybird Landing – 50 percent of campsites open.

Highway 9 East – Completely closed.

Highway 9 South – Completely closed with gates shut.

Highway 9 North – 50 percent of campsites open.

Belle Starr – 50 percent of campsites open.

Fort Gibson Lake:

Flat Rock - Completely closed. Gates are shut.

Bluebill - Completely closed. Gates are shut.

Rocky Point - 50 percent are not affected by flooding.

Taylor Ferry South - 50 percent are not affected by flooding.

Wildwood - Completely closed. Gates are shut.

Jackson Bay - Completely closed with gates shut.

Wahoo Bay - Completely closed with gates shut.

Taylor Ferry Beach - Completely closed with gates shut.

Taylor Ferry North - Completely closed with gates shut.

Damsite North - Completely closed with gates shut.

Toppers - Completely closed.

Damsite South - All campsites are open.

Heyburn Lake:

Sheppard Point: 95 percent campsites open. Equestrian trails 100 percent open. Other day use 40 percent open.

Sunset Bay: 90 percent campsites open. 90 percent day use open.

Heyburn Park: 100 percent campsites open. 60 percent day use open.

Keystone Lake:

Washington Irving: 100 percent of campsites are open. Swim beach/day use approximately 30 percent closed.

Appalachia Bay: 100 percent of campsites are open. (if the lake level climbs another foot over the next couple of days, it will change to 70 percent closed). Swim beach/day use approximately 30 percent closed.

Brush Creek: 100 percent open, fishing is great because of downstream releases.

Cowskin Bay South: 70 percent open.

Keystone Ramp: 60 percent open.

Oologah Lake:

Blue Creek Area - 90 percent of campsites are open. Boat Launching Ramp is closed. Horse camping area closed.

Hawthorn Bluff Area - Both A and B Loop fishing docks are closed. Courtesy dock at boat ramp is closed. Swim beach is closed.

Dock at Hawthorn Beach Boat launching Ramp is closed, Swim Beach closed.

Spencer Creek Area - 90 percent of campsites are open. Swim Beach is closed.

Redbud Area - Courtesy dock is closed at the boat launching ramp, Low road at Redbud Marina is closed.

Oklahoma Lake Levels
