Police arrested a Tulsa man after they said he ran a red light Wednesday evening and hit another car, killing one and injuring two others.
Officers said the crash happened just after 7 p.m. at Pine and Yale.
Police said Narson Martin, 23, was driving west on Pine when he hit an Acura headed south on Yale. Police said the impact threw a passenger in the back seat of the Acura from the car.
That passenger, who was not identified, died at the scene. EMSA took two other people in the Acura to the hospital with what paramedics said were injuries that aren't life threatening.
According to officers, after the crash Martin walked to a gas station and offered the clerk $20, stating he "had just caused that wreck and that the police would be here pretty quick to arrest me." They said the clerk declined his offer. An officer arrived on the scene and witnesses told him Martin was in the store.
In the report, police said the results of a breathalyzer test showed Martin's blood alcohol level was .30.
Police booked Narson Martin into the Tulsa County jail on complaints of second-degree murder, DUI, as well as having no license, no insurance and an expired tag.
Jail records show Martin's bond was set at just over $500,000 with a court appearance set for April 23.
