The Oral Roberts baseball team held its media day Tuesday afternoon at J.L. Johnson Stadium.
The Golden Eagles were recently picked to finish second behind Omaha in the Summit League preseason coaches poll. ORU and UNO each both had three first place votes, ending in 21 points for the Golden Eagles and 23 points for the Mavericks. SDSU finished in third with 17, while NDSU finished in fourth with 15. Western Illinois and Fort Wayne finished the poll off at fifth and sixth.
UNO is the current defending regular season champ, but has failed eligibility for the postseason due to NCAA DI transition rules. The Mavericks are in its final season of NCAA DI reclassification and are ineligible for the 2015 postseason.
Oral Roberts will make its return to the Summit League this year, after spending two seasons in the Southland Conference. The Golden Eagles won 15 straight league championships during its previous 15-year stint in the Summit.
The Golden Eagles are set to open the new season at home on February 13 against Memphis.
