Will Rogers College High School will honor 33 student-athletes with letterman jackets Friday night during the halftime of the the girls' varsity basketball game against Tulsa Memorial.
The celebration will be held to award football and basketball letterman for their leadership, discipline, and pride in the Will Rogers sports program.
The jackets will be presented to the players by the Will Rogers All Sports Booster Club, (in the school's field house).
Chris VanDenhende and his wife Debbie kicked off their booster administrative term with a football banquet back in December, but they had not yet received the letterman jackets at the time. Therefore, the basketball and football boys will receive them at the game.
Special guests attending the event include: Dr. Keith Ballard, the superintendent of Tulsa Public Schools, and Stacey Vernon, the school's first principal as a college high program.
Alumni and parents will also be in attendance to witness the occasion.
The ceremony is set to begin at 6:30 p.m. and will last about 30 minutes.
