A double dose of the stomach virus is What's Going Around. Doctors and nurses from the Muscogee Creek Nation Department of Health are seeing it in both Sapulpa and Okemah.

Dr. Kathryn Zackery and Andrea Polson said since it's viral, antibiotics will not help, it has to run its course, but if you have a fever and it lasts longer than a few days, go see your doctor.

It's also the time to get geared up for flu season. Vaccines will be available next month.

The Creek Nation's mobile clinic will also be going to different locations to provide flu shots.

Some tips to stay germ free include: always cover your mouth when coughing or sneezing, use antibacterial hand sanitizer throughout your work day or while at home, always avoid touching your mouth, nose or eyes and stay home if you are sick.

According to doctors, head lice exams are more frequent now that school is in session, so please remind your kiddos not to share their hair combs, brushes, ponytail holders, or hats and caps with others.
