Two Oklahoma prison escapees were arrested Tuesday by Tulsa County Sheriff's deputies a day after they walked away from a southwest Oklahoma community corrections center.

The Oklahoma Department of Corrections says the pair, identified as Derek Jones, 22, of Tulsa County and James Cooper, 20, of Love County escaped from the Lawton Community Corrections Center, stole a car and were believed to be headed to Tulsa.

After the men made a phone call from a pay phone at 5th and 33rd West Avenue, Tulsa County Sheriff's deputies searched the area and located the stolen car in the 100 block of South 34th West Avenue.

Shortly thereafter, deputies located Jones and Cooper and took them into custody. Both were booked into the Tulsa County jail.
