Public Service Company of Oklahoma and the Better Business Bureau are warning customers that scammers may be trying to steal your money.

According to the Better Business Bureau, thieves posing as a power company representatives are nothing new, but they are trying just about anything to get your bank info.

BBB PSO Scam Alert

First of all, the BBB says if someone calls you at home, claiming to be the power company and tells you your electric service will be cut off immediately unless you pay them, that is a big red flag.

Recently, the Better Business Bureau says scammers will ask for payment with a prepaid debit card.

Here is what you need to know to protect yourself. PSO says it will never ask you to buy a prepaid debit card.

PSO only accepts phone payments when the customer calls, they won't ask you to pay over the phone.

If someone shows up at your door saying they're from PSO and that they need to get inside your house, don't let them in. The utility says its employees don't need to go in your home.
