I hope you enjoyed the spectacular fall weather preview this past weekend.  We had highs in the lower 70s Saturday after the rain vacated the area with yesterday's highs in the upper 70s and lower 80s.  We're on track for another pleasant but warmer Monday and Tuesday before another cold front moves into the state Wednesday into early Thursday morning bringing another round of showers and thunderstorms.  This front will also bring another cooler air mass to the state Thursday through at least Saturday and possibly the entire weekend.

The surface air flow will support southerly winds today and tomorrow with breezy southwest winds Tuesday afternoon.  The afternoon highs today will move into the upper 80s with mostly sunny conditions.  Tuesday afternoon highs should top out in the lower or even mid-90s for a few locations with south to southwest winds around the 15 to 25 mph range.

The main upper level flow will take a strong disturbance into the Midwest to upper-Midwest Wednesday into Thursday while shoving a surface boundary southward Wednesday.  This front should fire up showers and thunderstorms Wednesday with the rain moving southward into southeastern OK pre-dawn Thursday.  The threat for severe weather is not zero but remains low as the main upper level dynamics will be displaced from our immediate area. The actual model output is not very bullish on the amount of precipitation in the area, but we'll continue to keep a decent shot in the forecast with this front.

Most data support a surface ridge of high pressure building down across Canada into the central U.S. behind the boundary Thursday into Friday.  This should bring some cool fall-like area into the northern third of the state Thursday and Friday, if not into part of the upcoming weekend.  Thursday morning temps will be in the upper 50s to lower 60s and the afternoon in the mid or upper 70s.  As the surface ridge continues to settle southward across the central U.S. the cooler and drier air will drop Friday morning lows into the mid and upper 50s with Friday afternoon highs staying in the upper 60s or lower 70s.   This ridge may keep an influence into the state for the first half of the weekend before sliding eastward Sunday as another system approaches out of the Rockies.  This would bring rain chances back to the area by Monday of next week.

The official high in Tulsa yesterday was 80 at 5:22pm.

The normal daily average high is 87 and the low is 65.

Our daily records include a high of 103 from 1925 and 1912.  The daily record low is 50 from 1956.

Thanks for reading the Monday Morning weather discussion and blog.

Have a super great day!
