Garth Brooks Plans Thursday News Conference

Country music fans could learn Thursday, July 10, 2014 if Garth Brooks will announce plans for a world tour.

According to his web site, a news conference will be streamed live online starting at 11 a.m.  

In December 2013, Garth Brooks told CBS' "The Talk" he was planning on a three-year world tour in 2014. If true, it would be Garth Brooks' first tour in 13 years.

Garth announced his retirement from touring in 2001 to spend more time with his three daughters.

In 2009, Garth Brooks announced he had come out of retirement to perform at the Wynn Las Vegas Hotel and Casino. He said he had agreed to perform at the casino for five years, until his youngest daughter headed off to college.

His one-man Las Vegas show was a sold-out event. 

Garth Brooks is also set to perform in Ireland July 25-29 at Croke Park.
