Muskogee Police have arrested three people they believe are responsible for at least two robberies and may have been planning a third.
Stephon Alexander, Matthew Triplett and Javon Perry are in Muskogee County Jail. All face charges of first-degree robbery, according to Muskogee Police Cpl. Michael Mahan.
Officers said they arrested Perry for two robberies last week then realized he was working with Alexander and Triplett.
Perry was arrested Jan. 15 for robbing a Kum & Go clerk at gunpoint. Police say he then took a cab to the Whispering Pine Apartments. He allegedly robbed the cab driver on the way.
Video surveillance of the scene reportedly showed him then entering an apartment where he was later arrested.
Police said they discovered a plan for another robbery Wednesday morning and sent in an officer to pose as a clerk. They say when the suspects arrived, they got into a chase.
It ended in a crash, that's when the other two suspects were arrested. Triplett was also booked on complaints of eluding police officers while endangering others and outstanding robbery warrants from Sebastian County, Arkansas, Mahan said in a news release.
