TU Student-Athletes March in MLK Day Parade

University of Tulsa student-athletes, numbering 170, joined many more groups from the northeastern Oklahoma area to march in the Martin Luther King Day Parade in downtown Tulsa on Monday.

University of Tulsa student-athletes, numbering 170, joined many more groups from the northeastern Oklahoma area to march in the Martin Luther King Day Parade in downtown Tulsa on Monday.

"We appreciate the opportunity given to our student-athletes to join many Tulsans in celebrating the legacy of Dr. King and the many civil rights leaders who have given so much to our city and our country," Tulsa Vice President and Director of Athletics Dr. Derrick Gragg said.

The parade, which began at 11 a.m., started at Detroit Avenue, traveled east on John Hope Franklin Boulevard through the OSU-Tulsa campus, then south on Greenwood Avenue to Archer Street and ended in front of ONEOK Field.
