The Tulsa Police Department is enforcing the speed limit in construction zones between Sheridan Road and Interstate 244.
According to a press release from the Tulsa Police Department, officers will randomly monitor the construction zones in January.
The purpose is to increase the safety of construction workers and reduce crashes in the area.
Drivers are to remain alert, use their seatbelts and avoid the use of any electronics when approaching construction zones.
A ticked for speeding in a construction zone can be between $150 and $500 or ten days in jail.
Warnings will not be given to drivers.
