29-Year-Old Man Dies In Shooting Near Sallisaw

A man was shot and killed at a rural residence northeast of Sallisaw on Saturday, the Sequoyah County Sheriff's Office says.

CBS affiliate KFSM in Fort Smith reported deputies responded to the shooting at 6:21 p.m., and discovered the body of a 29-year-old man.

The body was outdoors and had a single gunshot wound, officials told KFSM.

Deputies on Saturday night were interviewing a potential suspect and witnesses.
