Judge Sets January Hearing For Bartlesville Pair In Fraud Case

Larry Dearman, 40, faces charges of embezzlement, conspiracy and obtaining money by false pretense. Marya Gray, 50, is charged with conspiracy.

A Washington County judge has set a Jan. 23 preliminary hearing for a former Bartlesville financial advisor and a Bartlesville businesswoman charged with stealing thousands from investor clients.

Larry Dearman, 40, faces charges of embezzlement, conspiracy and obtaining money by false pretense. Marya Gray, 50, is charged with conspiracy.

Those charges were filed in October after the Security and Exchange Commission filed a fraud complaint against the pair.

The SEC says Dearman and Gray raised at least $4.7 million through illegal schemes.

Former investors want their money back. There are nearly two dozen lawsuits filed against Dearman and Gray in Washington and Osage County courts.

Dearman remains in the Washington County jail in lieu of $150,000 bond. Gray bonded out of jail after she was arrested in October.
