For some of us, it's heroic just to get off the couch - especially on a rainy morning. But participants in the first ever Superhero 5K took to the streets of Bixby in support of Crisis Pregnancy Outreach, a Tulsa non-profit adoption agency.
One runner found special meaning in the choice of her costume: Wonder Woman.
"I wanted to come out and support the Crisis Pregnancy Outreach," said Lindsey Fladie, runner and superhero.
"I chose Wonder Woman because she can do anything, just like these superhero moms who are giving their children up for adoption because they know it's the best choice for their child," she said.
Fladie said she chose to run rather than use her invisible jet - but she had to take off her cape due to wind gusts.
The event was held at Bentley Park on Saturday morning, November 16.
