Mayoral Candidates Name Biggest Challenges For Next Term

Less than a week before Tulsa votes for its next mayor, rivals faced each other at a midtown meet-and-greet.

The three major candidates mingled at Tulsa's Harwelden mansion Wednesday night, making a final push to voters.

We asked all three what they see as the biggest challenge ahead.

"I think the biggest challenge for our community will be getting water in the river," Mayor Dewey Bartlett said.

Former city councilman Bill Christiansen said, "I think, actually, the biggest challenge I'll probably have is regaining the confidence of the citizens of Tulsa in their City Hall."

"The biggest challenge is making this city a vibrant city again by tackling public safety, education, and our infrastructure," former Mayor Kathy Taylor said.

Tulsans vote Tuesday. If no candidate gets 50 percent of the vote, the top two contenders move on to a runoff.
