The Rogers County Election Board has voted to not certify results of a recent sales tax election after a resident filed a complaint alleging the county didn't give proper legal notice of the election.
Voters in Rogers County approved a 1-cent sales tax extension on May 14, 2013 by a 58-percent to 42-percent margin.
But a resident filed a challenge to the election results, saying the county didn't properly publish a legal notice of the election in a county newspaper before the vote.

The Claremore Daily Progress reports that the election board voted Tuesday to not certify the election results until after a hearing is held next week on the complaint.
The hearing is set for May 28, 2013 before District Judge Dwayne Steidley.
The Rogers County Clerk and the Rogers County Election Board Secretary each said it was the other's responsibility to publish the notice.
