ORU President To Give Farewell Speech At Commencement

Outgoing Oral Roberts University President Dr. Mark Rutland is this year's commencement speaker, the university has announced.

ORU's commencement ceremony will be Saturday, May 4, at 1 p.m. in the Mabee Center.

Dr. Rutland was named ORU's 3rd president in 2009 following the resignation of Richard Roberts.

The university says under Dr. Rutland's leadership, ORU has experienced an unprecedented turnaround including eliminating $55 million in long term debt, completing $50 million in campus renovations and achieving four consecutive years of enrollment growth.

Dr. William "Billy" Wilson will take over as the ORU's 4th president in July 2013.
