Delaware County Mother Charged With Child Neglect

A Delaware County mother at the center of a recent Amber Alert is now charged with child neglect.

China Prater was free on a $5,000 bond Friday evening.

Last Friday's Amber Alert was issued out of concern for Prater's daughter, eight month-old Carolinn, who was believed to be severely malnourished.

DHS got a court order to take the little girl into custody for emergency care. Prater took the baby to the hospital in Grove and was arrested after she was questioned by investigators.
